When paired with a wooden wick, it creates a crackling ambiance, and a slower burn allowing for a longer burning candle. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe wax will burn slowly and close to the edge until about half way down, this is on purpose- creating a clean burn, and to prevent the outer concrete from overheating. As the candle burns down (about half way), the remaining wax along the sides will begin to melt.
